17.To the library again!

To the library again!
/tuː/ /ðə//ˈlaɪbrəri/ /əˈɡen/!

So Kim went out once again. She went to the library for the fourth time that day.
/səʊ/ Kim /went//aʊt/ /wʌns//əˈɡen/. /ʃi/ /went//tuː//ðə//ˈlaɪbrəri//fɔːr//ðə/ /fɔːθ/ /taɪm/ /ðæt//deɪ/
She wanted to believe in magic.
/ʃi/ /ˈwɒntɪd/ /tuː/ /bɪˈliːv/ /ɪn/ /ˈmædʒɪk/
She thought about the piece of paper, inside the handle.
/ʃi/ /θɔːt/ /əˈbaʊt/ /ðə/ /piːs/ /əv/ /ˈpeɪpə(r)/,  /ˌɪnˈsaɪd/ /ðə/ /ˈhændl/
There was a black and gold dragon painted on it.
/ðeə(r)/ /wəz/ /ə/ /blæk/ /ənd/ /ɡəʊld/ /ˈdræɡən/ /peɪnt/ /ɒn//ɪt/.
‘I wish the dragon was magic,’ thought Kim.
/aɪ/ /wɪʃ/ /ðə//ˈdræɡən/ /wəz/ /ˈmædʒɪk/, /θɔːt/ Kim.
‘Then the magic dragon would fly through the air and bring the umbrella back to me.’
/ðen/ /ðə/ /ˈmædʒɪk/ /ˈdræɡən/ /wʊd//flaɪ/  /θruː/  /ðə/ /eə(r)/ /ənd/ /brɪŋ/ /ðə//ʌmˈbrelə/ /bæk/ /tuː/ /mi/.
But Kim knew, in her heare, that it was not a magic dragon.
/bət/ Kim /njuː/, /ɪn/ /hə(r)/, /ðæt/ /ɪt/ /wəz/ /nɒt/ /ə/  /ˈmædʒɪk/ /ˈdræɡən/.
When she reached the library she saw Mrs Parks.
/wen/  /ʃi/ /riːtʃ/ /ðə/ /ˈlaɪbrəri/  /ʃi/ /sɔː/ /ˈmɪsɪz/ /pɑːk/
The library teacher said, ‘I’ll come home with you, Kim.
/ðə//ˈlaɪbrəri/ /ˈtiːtʃə(r)/  /sed/,  /aɪl/ /kʌm/ /həʊm/ /wɪð/  /ju/, Kim
I’ll talk to your Grandmother.’
/aɪl/ /tɔːk/ /tuː/  /jɔː(r)/ /ˈɡrænmʌðə(r)/.
Then Mrs Parks went home with Kim to speak to her Grandmother.
/ðen/ /ˈmɪsɪz/ /pɑːk/ /went/ /həʊm/ /wɪð/ Kim /tuː/ /hə(r)/ /ˈɡrænmʌðə(r)/
‘Perhaps the umbrella will be returned,’ she said.
/pəˈhæps/ /ðə//ʌmˈbrelə/  /wɪl/  /bi/ /rɪˈtɜːn/,  /ʃi/  /sed/.
‘All the children are looking for it.’
/ɔːl/ /ðə/ /ˈtʃɪldrən/ /ɑːr/ /lʊkɪŋ/ /fɔːr/ /ɪt/.
Kim told Grandmother what Mrs Parks said, in Chinese.
Kim /təʊld/ /ˈɡrænmʌðə(r)/  /wɒt/ /ˈmɪsɪz/ /pɑːk/   /sed/,  /ɪn/ /ˌtʃaɪˈniːz/
They waited for Grandmother to answer.
/ðeɪ//weɪt/ /fɔːr/ /ˈɡrænmʌðə(r)/ /tuː/ /ˈɑːnsə(r)/.
Grandmother’s face did not change. She was still angry.
/ˈɡrænmʌðə(r)’s/  /feɪs/  /dɪd/  /nɒt/ /tʃeɪndʒ/.  /ʃi/ /wəz/ /stɪl/  /ˈæŋɡri/
She did not speak. It was time for the library teacher to go.
/ʃi/ /dɪd/  /nɒt/  /spiːk/. /ɪt/ /wəz/ /taɪm/  /fɔːr/ /ðə//ˈlaɪbrəri/ /ˈtiːtʃə(r)/ /tuː/  /ɡəʊ/
She wanted to shake hands with Grandmother so she held out her hand but Grandmother would not look at her.
/ʃi/ /ˈwɒntɪd/ /tuː/ /ʃeɪk/ /hænds/ /wɪð//ˈɡrænmʌðə(r)/ /səʊ/ /ʃi/ /held/ /aʊt/ /hə(r)/ /hænd/ /bʌt/ /ˈɡrænmʌðə(r)/ /wʊd/  /nɒt/ /lʊk/ /ət/  /hə(r)/.
She would not shake hands.
/ʃi/ /wʊd/   /nɒt/ /ʃeɪk/  /hænds/.
Mrs Parks touched Kim’s wet hair gently.
/ˈmɪsɪz/ /pɑːk/ /tʌtʃt/ Kim’s /wet/ /heə(r)/  /ˈdʒentli/
She said to Kim, ‘Come and see me tomorrow. Tell me what happens.’ And she left.
/ʃi/  /sed/ /tuː/ Kim,  /kʌm/ /ənd/  /siː/ /mi/  /təˈmɒrəʊ/. /tel/ /mi/ /wɒt/  /ˈhæpən/.  /ənd/ /ʃi/  /left/
Then grandmother hit Kim again.
/ðen/ /ˈɡrænmʌðə(r)/  /hɪt/ Kim  /əˈɡen/.
She said, ‘You must find that umbrella.
/ʃi/  /sed/, /ju/ /məst/ /faɪnd/ /ðæt/ /ʌmˈbrelə/
I don’t want you to bring back library teacher!
/aɪ/ /dəʊnt/  /wɒnt/ /ju/  /tuː/ /brɪŋ/ /bæk//ˈlaɪbrəri/ /ˈtiːtʃə(r)/
I want you to bring back the umbrella!’
/aɪ/ /wɒnt/ /ju/  /tuː/ /brɪŋ/ /bæk/  /ðə/ /ʌmˈbrelə/.
