Mae Lee looked at kim but did not speak to her.

Kim stood up and walked towards Mae.

The man could not see them.

 I wanted to help you, but I was late. I was in a hurry.

 I got onto the next train, and then I saw someone running up the stairs.

It was that man, the one who is sitting near you.

Then the train doors closed.
