Once there were two cousins who lived in a village by the sea.

As he worked there, he saw someone running along the sand towards him.

“But I saw my father about an hour ago,” Ahmad said.

His father was not at the bottom of the big rock. Ahmad looked around.

“If I ever catch you, I’ll kill you!”

But Hassan couldn’t hear because of the noise of the win and the waves.

Ahmad gets off the island

Ahmad waited for a long time on the island.

He sat on the sand, sadly thinking about what was happening in the village.

The men were very surprised to see him there. They rowes in to the shore

Ahmad jumped into their boat and the men began to row.

They rowed faster and faster. As they rowed, Ahmad told them what had happened.

In the village, the wedding feast had begun. But Sharifa was not happy. She did not know why.

Hassan was eating as much as he could. There was a big smile on his face.

“Soon I shall have Sharifa as my wife,” he thought.

“When Ahmad comes back, Sharifa and I will have left the village!”

He held out his hands for more pineapple.

Not too late

Suddenly Sharifa noticed something. Hasan looked at her and she held his arm tightly.

“No, no!” Sharifa screamed. “You are not Ahmad! I don’t want you as my husband! You are Hassan!”

She screamed and screamed and banged her head on the ground.

“Where is Ahmad? Where are you hiding him?”

The village people all began to talk at once. “What did she say? What does she mean?”

 “She’s right! She’s right! It is Hassan. Where is Ahmad?

Everyone pushed forward. Some men held Hassan and shook him so hard that it hurt.

No one understood what had happened. No one knew what to do.

Then suddenly there was a loud shout. Ahmad ran through the trees towards Sharifa and held her in his arms.

“Hassan, you are a bad man,” said Ahmad. A bad, bad men.

There was a lot more talking and shouting before everyone understood.

Then the people decided that Hassan must leave the village for five years.
